Faith and shadow work
Honest work with God in the room
Some men want their faith to be part of this. Christianity has always called people to honesty before God: confession, repentance, grace, and being fully known and still loved. Jesus never taught shadow work, and I won't claim he did. Still, his words about the beam in your own eye (Matthew 7:3) ask for the same kind of honesty.
In a session. If you want this, we can open or close with prayer, sit with a passage of scripture, or use a prayer of honesty around what came up. It's completely optional, and you don't need to be religious for any of the other work.
For you if your faith matters to you and you don't want to leave it at the door.
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Matthew 7:3 (KJV)
Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Psalm 139:23-24 (KJV)
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9 (KJV)
